Our NJHS students are making waves in our school community! 🙌
Last Friday, they visited four of our elementary schools—Starline, Oro Grande, Havasupai, and Smoketree. Students volunteered at school sites, mentor younger students, and supported campus initiatives. From one-on-one help to hands-on service projects, these students proved that kindness and community spirit are alive and well.
Thank you, NJHS! Thank you to the elementary schools that allowed us to visit and give back! 💛

🌟 A big shoutout to our amazing NJHS and 6th grade NEHS students! At their leadership luncheon last week, they also put together care packages for the Clothes Closet, filled with essential items like deodorant, soap, bathing wipes, socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, first aid supplies, nail clippers, and more. 🙌
We're so grateful to the Clothes Closet for their partnership and the Booster Club for generously donating the products that made this service project possible. Together, we're teaching our students the true value of community service and why it matters! 💕

Our NJHS and 6th Grade NEHS students came together for an amazing Leadership Luncheon with a mission: giving back to our community.
In honor of International Firefighters Day, these young leaders assembled gift bags for every fire department in Lake Havasu City and Desert Hills. With help from our families, the gifts were delivered to each station today!
Our students learned that true leadership means showing gratitude, serving others, and supporting those who keep us safe.
Thank you to our firefighters for your bravery and dedication. 🙏❤️

Happy Principal's Day, Mrs. Barney!
When Mrs. Barney stepped into the role of interim principal a year and a half ago, we didn't just get a leader—we got someone who genuinely cares. And that makes all the difference.
She leads with compassion, but she also holds us accountable. She believes in us enough to push us forward, and that combination? It brings out the best in our entire school community.
Mrs. Barney has an incredible gift for looking at data—the numbers, the trends, the patterns—and helping us see what we might miss on our own. She doesn't just identify gaps; she helps us understand them and move toward solutions. That's the mark of a true instructional leader.
Mrs. Barney puts students first. Every decision, every conversation, every late night—it all comes back to what's best for the young people in our district. That clarity of purpose ripples through everything she does.
Thank you, Mrs. Barney, for your incredible leadership, your unwavering support, and for showing us what it looks like to lead with both a head and a heart.
🎉 You are incredible!

Carol Nowakowski has been a cornerstone of LHUSD since 1994 and her return to Thunderbolt Middle School has been nothing short of transformative.
As our Dean of Students, Carol brings an unmatched combination of intelligence, kindness, and capability to everything she does. She holds us all accountable, not with a heavy hand, but with genuine care for our collective success. Carol doesn't just manage; she empowers. She's the person who asks the hard questions, celebrates the wins, and shows up with solutions. Her door is always open, her insight is always sharp, and her dedication is always steadfast.
If you'd like to show your appreciation, here's what keeps Carol going:
☕ Coffee in hand, 24/7 — Her fuel of choice! She always has coffee in hand, no matter the time of day.

💜 PURPLE UP DAY 💜
Wednesday, our school community came together to honor the brave men and women who serve our country. Purple Up Day recognizes and celebrates the military-connected families in our community. Students wore purple to show solidarity with those who serve, and today our families joined us to make it extra special. 💪
Here's what made Purple Up Day amazing:
✨ Military Recognition – We celebrated the service members among us
✨ Flag Folding Ceremony – A solemn and meaningful tribute by Marine Corp League Detachment 757
✨ Community BBQ – Thanks to Taher for keeping everyone fueled on the patio!
A huge thank you to all our military families for your service and sacrifice. Your courage inspires us every single day.
To our students: you showed such respect and pride on Wednesday.
We see you. We honor you. Thank you for your service. 💜

🎭 What a night! Our Theater Club absolutely crushed it last night at the LHHS Little Theater! 🌟
When our middle schoolers took the stage, they brought the magic—performing an incredible collection of songs from their favorite musicals! 🎬✨
This production was truly a district effort. We're so grateful to our amazing mentors who traveled to support these students:
✨ Mrs. Murphy (Starline Elementary)
✨ Mrs. Vesley & Ms. Iseminger (Jamaica Elementary)
✨ Mr. Fallis (LHHS)
Your guidance, encouragement, and belief in these kids helped them shine on stage. You've shown them what it means to dream big and work hard. 💚
Proud of our students. Grateful for our village. 🎉

🎭✨ Join us for a special night of music and talent! ✨🎭
The Thunderbolt Theater Club is proud to present Raise Your Voice: A Musical Revue this Thursday April 16th at 7 PM in the Lake Havasu High School in the Little Theatre!
This production is extra special—it’s the very first show this group has ever put on, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with our community. Featuring a collection of songs from a variety of musicals, our talented students have been working hard to bring this performance to life!
Ms. Vesely and Ms. Murphy are at it again with Camaro Iseminger helping us along the way. We are so proud of the dedication and passion these students have shown throughout the process.
Come out and support these performers as they take the stage and truly raise their voices! 🎶👏
