After 36 incredible years, today marks the final chapter of Sue Blanchard's journey with LHUSD. 🎓💙

Sue has been the steady, calming voice and reassuring presence that has guided our school community through countless moments—both big and small. From welcoming students through registration to putting out fires behind the scenes with grace and wisdom, she's been the backbone of our school family.

What makes Sue truly special? She's watched generations grow up here. Some of our staff were once her students who visited her in the front office. Some of our students' parents sat in these same halls when she was already making a difference. Her voice on the morning announcements has been the soundtrack to our days—a familiar comfort we won't soon forget.

Sue, your kindness, your dedication, and your unwavering calm have left an imprint on every single person who's had the privilege of knowing you. You've done more than a job—you've built a legacy.

Enjoy this well-deserved retirement, Mrs. Blanchard. You will be deeply missed. 💛

Our NJHS students are making waves in our school community! 🙌
Last Friday, they visited four of our elementary schools—Starline, Oro Grande, Havasupai, and Smoketree. Students volunteered at school sites, mentor younger students, and supported campus initiatives. From one-on-one help to hands-on service projects, these students proved that kindness and community spirit are alive and well.
Thank you, NJHS! Thank you to the elementary schools that allowed us to visit and give back! 💛

🌟 A big shoutout to our amazing NJHS and 6th grade NEHS students! At their leadership luncheon last week, they also put together care packages for the Clothes Closet, filled with essential items like deodorant, soap, bathing wipes, socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, first aid supplies, nail clippers, and more. 🙌 We're so grateful to the Clothes Closet for their partnership and the Booster Club for generously donating the products that made this service project possible. Together, we're teaching our students the true value of community service and why it matters! 💕

We started this appreciation week with an awesome surprise from the Kind Cup coffee truck, which rolled onto campus before school! 🚚☕️ Our teachers enjoyed fresh coffee to kick off their day with a smile! For lunch, booster also served up delicious Hot Dogs, Sloppy Joes, Chips, and Macaroni Salad. It was the perfect comfort food to fuel our appreciation! 🌈✨ A huge thank you to our amazing booster team for bringing the nostalgia with those fabulous high school photos of our teachers! 📸❤️ It was such a blast from the past, and we loved celebrating in style with a totally rad theme! 🎶 #TeacherAppreciationWeek #BlastFromThePast #FeelingRad

Our NJHS and 6th Grade NEHS students came together for an amazing Leadership Luncheon with a mission: giving back to our community.

In honor of International Firefighters Day, these young leaders assembled gift bags for every fire department in Lake Havasu City and Desert Hills. With help from our families, the gifts were delivered to each station today!

Our students learned that true leadership means showing gratitude, serving others, and supporting those who keep us safe.

Thank you to our firefighters for your bravery and dedication. 🙏❤️

Happy Principal's Day, Mrs. Barney!

When Mrs. Barney stepped into the role of interim principal a year and a half ago, we didn't just get a leader—we got someone who genuinely cares. And that makes all the difference.

She leads with compassion, but she also holds us accountable. She believes in us enough to push us forward, and that combination? It brings out the best in our entire school community.

Mrs. Barney has an incredible gift for looking at data—the numbers, the trends, the patterns—and helping us see what we might miss on our own. She doesn't just identify gaps; she helps us understand them and move toward solutions. That's the mark of a true instructional leader.

Mrs. Barney puts students first. Every decision, every conversation, every late night—it all comes back to what's best for the young people in our district. That clarity of purpose ripples through everything she does.

Thank you, Mrs. Barney, for your incredible leadership, your unwavering support, and for showing us what it looks like to lead with both a head and a heart.

🎉 You are incredible!
